Follow your dreams....you are Eleven...

Last week I finally found a moment to clear my scrap desk...then find some photos and bits n bobs and finally do some scrapping.

Birthdays are a good place to start....and with lots of Grandsons...there is always another birthday ready to document. This time it was the eldest...turning 11.

At the moment I am drawn to all things natural & earthy, vintage & pre-loved.....whether it be for décor or scrapping it seems. I am loving the geometric shapes and lines I am seeing around...and without even thinking I cut some papers and then re-pieced them on the page. Feathers and wood grains, reds yellows blues and greens. Adding some various bits n bobs, some old stamps even....and there's even some splashes of gold....to complete this boys page.

See what I can find next on my desk....

Thanks for popping on by,

Have a good day,

Love Sue xx

Be awesome....be cool...

It has been ages since I have been here to post anything...and finally I have gotten around to sitting at my scrap desk to cut paper and stick stuff down. Firstly this photo of cute little Finn was taken late last year, he is so cute....he is so awesome and cool!! He's Granny's little boy...no actually...he LOVES Pops but oh well, I get to care for him every week while his mum goes to work...
These papers and embellies from Crate paper suit his awesomeness perfectly......oh so boyish!!

Be Awesome, Be Cool:

Then this cute 'I am' range (Simple Stories) works well with Jen Hadfield, papers from our LSS- Sheoak Cottage. I thought I could do a 'Me' page....doesn't happen often but this photo snap from my birthday with the Grandsons x6 all around me, was an ideal moment to keep....and scrap.

Here is I am..

I have also been making some cards again recently....so I am off  to find some pics of them to post next time.

Hope you have had some moments to get to your scrap desk....and thanks for popping on by here.

Cheers....Sue xx

kick n splash...

Finally today I have gotten around to sharing the last of my layouts that I completed at the E2C retreat.

First up, Kick n Splash: this page was inspired by the many layouts I have been spying around with various patterned paper shape cut outs. I have been particularly drawn to the triangles....and it also happened to be part of the theme of the retreat too!

I added some inky smears made by mixing the spray with a little water onto flat plastic, and then lightly touching straight onto the background. Added some stamped arrows and added some paper confetti sprinkles.

I so love watching each of the boys learning to swim....something I feel is so very important here with so much beach & water time through our hot summers. And little Finn here, has taken to the water quite confidently, not afraid of getting his face wet at all and loves to make big splashes!

Then there is These Boys: which is my normal multiple photo, layering layout. I have taken to adding a strip of paper (usually sewn) to either the top or bottom of my pages but this time I added a few little embellishments to one corner.

I love times together with all these boys. The cousins all get along famously well!! It's noisy, it's crazy but it is loads of fun!!

Well, that is my crazy lot....I love 'em!! And that is about all my pages for the moment....will show my class pages next.

It's feeling like good weather to be stuck indoors....and maybe attempt some scrapping!!

Have a great day!

summer fun....

Continuing on with my layouts that I completed while at the retreat..

Summer Fun: this one was inspired by Leanne Allinson, and I went for the A4 size page and just kept it simple...which suited these bright photos of the kids on the jetty, the day we went to Tumby Bay.

then after a walk on the jetty, then fish n chips....it was time for a summer treat...

you Loved it: an icecream, a messy slurpy icecream....but you still loved it!! Mr Jacob loving a double scooper!! Cookies n Cream with a scoop of Bubblegum.....what a treat!!

I did some water washing of ink for the background and then let some splats slide down the page, added a few layers and some tags, some stickers, some washi and those AC kraft words again.... a title and a little bit of handwritten journaling and ....all is complete!

Bit cold for an icecream today thou!! Nice steady rain for the past 12 hours....the opening rains are here....only 17mm at this stage, but its been nice to hear the gentle pit pat on the roof....and fresh water in the tanks!

Hope you are finding a nice spot today on these school holidays.

A couple layouts to share...

A few weeks back in March I went to the great E2C retreat for a weekend of scrapping bliss!!
I had a fantastic weekend....scrapping my little heart out, doing some classes with fantastic teachers, having heaps of laughs with a table of great friends..

Here is a couple layouts I did while I was away....I think I did a total of 9 including my class pages, not bad for me....and as I cut my 4 day weekend back to 3 days due to having to go off to an emergency nursing course.

Today is Eli tuning 7 last September....(Yes, I am about to go on a boy scrapbooking- catchup venture....just warning you...lol!!!) Love the 'Amy Tangerine' Kraft script word thickers, which Today was part of.

Then #School Kids  celebrates Mr Mace starting school this year.... And the compulsory first day of school picture. I had worked on this background as a pre-retreat kit, so it was a quick start/ quick go to page for late at night!!

And the close up pics of the photos are for you Dad and Mum who pops into my blog...for latest update and pics of the great grandies!!

Hope you are all having a nice day,
Catchyas soon...

Getting page kits ready for the retreat...

I like to pack a couple page kits before I go to a scrapping weekend away....to get a little mojo started and in the scrapping mood.....so I started putting one together..... i got to the stage...oh bugger....just stick it....and then it was all but complete....so i completed it! Oh well, all good!!

So this is page one complete...SEVEN:  Evan's birthday last May....and his little brother is right into the blowing the candles out- which is soooo cute!!
These pages are more about the moment than the  photo....obviously...as the photos aren't that crash hot...but if i miss a birthday, i sure do get reminded. The little ones love to see 'their' birthday on paper.

So kit one complete and made....onto the next one...

Once again....i was getting so into it, i thought may as well stick this all down, do some stamping, and some ink splats....before the day was done the page was complete..

CELEBRATE:  This day was Jacob's birthday, and we weren't having a birthday tea so Granny n Pops took the boys to the 5 Loaves Bakery for a milkshake and a donut!

So i have really gotten into the scrapping mood over this past week.....but then i did eventually move onto packing a couple extra kits without using the glue!!! Hopefully the mojo keeps on coming next weekend!!! So looking forward to it!

I then found this one under my scrap mat....obviously it needed some flattening out for it to be under there....but i had forgotten about it...i think i did this one last mini retreat back in September/ October.

CHERISH: if i remember rightly it was a page inspired by Ebony van de Starre. With the bright inky painty splats and the dashes of black stamping. A photo of Finn an i having cuddles. He is our littlest boy, full of cheek n fun!! Love him to bits!!

Well, onto some more packing for the retreat next weekend...

Have a great sunday!

Road Trip to the SE & Victoria

We have just returned home from a lovely road trip to Adelaide, down the South East and into Victoria to Ballarat.

It was a little road trip down memory lane at the same time...stopping to visit an Aunt in Coonalpyn, a drive around my old home town of Tintinara and out to our old farm. Stopping in at old friends to say a hello and calling into to cemeteries to visit resting places of relatives.

A chat and laugh over a cuppa with Auntie Bette.

We ventured down to Keith and onto Robe for a couple nights, visiting Beachport for lunch one day. It is amazing how small this world is....when you chat to someone in a little quaint café...there's always some-one who knows some-one from where you come from...even a lovely old gentleman knew our farm at Edillilie at Beachport!!

The beautiful long jetty at Beachport and the aqua sea!

My very patient husband will stop along the road side for me to pop out into the bush to take some photos- of the vegetation, a windmill or an old woolshed....I am always seeing something to click the camera at.

I just adore the beautiful big gums thru the lower South East. I wished I was a painter!

Then it was on across to Penola- a visit to Mary Mackillop land and down Petticoat lane and then into Victoria to Ballarat to visit my sister. Thru Casterton, Hamilton and the lower Grampians.

We had a very busy 4 days in Ballarat- a walk around the Lake Wendouree, a train trip down to Melbourne to visit the MCG for Rob's birthday. A drive up to Daylesford on a Sunday to visit the Vintage and street markets....onto Avoca for a quiet beer an meal in the pub.

It was time to say good-bye to Jules and Brent- we had a great time with them in Ballarat, seeing where they now live....but now it was time to head on back to Adelaide and then home.

And we spent a couple days with Mum n Dad before we headed back to the coast.

There is nothing quite like a road trip...to visit new places, re-visit old places and catch up with family and friends along the way! It is something we don't do often enough!

Thanks for popping on by...

Memories....of my little red hen..

Finally I found some inspiration to scrap.....with some help of my Gelatos, some layering, some typing, and some sticking...and this little treat of a photo, I bought this memory home to stay.

I can't believe this photo was taken over 3 years ago. And it does bring a smile to me as I remember that day. Jacob you was so proud to have caught my little hen and bring it into my kitchen to show me.....no Granny could ever be cross at that cute little face and the little red hen certainly didn't mind the adventure!!

So my memory from that day was made:

Have you a lovely memory to keep forever in your stash...??

Thanks for popping on by,
