at the pool..

In amongst all things busy at this time of the year, i did manage to finish this page yesterday, it has been sitting on my desk for some time!! Now it is time  to just pack up things until after Christmas i think as the next couple of weeks get very busy!

I grabbed these photos of little Mace, it was his first year at swimming at the lesuire centre and he was testing his young teacher out....ALOT, he loved the water, but not the water on the face stuff, you know how littlies can be the first year.

I used kaiser card-stock background, i like this card!! and i am seeing more & more darker backgrounds coming into vogue again, this grey works well with most colours, especially these Pebbles 'seen & noted' papers and some OA 'midway' ones too.

Well, hope you are all getting ready for Christmas and feeling organised....i think i am almost done!!

Thanks for popping on by,

Jacob's first run...

I finished this one off  just before i went to Adelaide 10 days ago, and have only just got to the computer to post it up. This once came together quickly with the Pink Paislee 'Portfolio' papers and embellishments, a bit of stamping here n there, some washi, button and a badge....along with some typing and it was complete. (My typing skills need some practise, there are a few little spelling errors and lines running into each other....this old machine doesn't quite like the thicker cardstock....but we get the story in the end!!!)

Looking at these photos brings a smile to my face, i love how little minis just run altogether in a pack....and glad i captured J coming out with the ball in his hold!!!

Thanks for calling on by,

Sue xx

the MacDon windrower..

i was inspired here by Allison Waken,  a page i saw awhile back. It was the triangles cut out that caught my eye....and i thought i could work it with these pictures of windrowing the canola last november.

i have used OA 'midway' papers here, along with a SC and Pebbles patterned paper. Tags- OA and Simple Stories, stamp- Kelly Purkey, Flair button, alphas - AC thickers and Echo Park, ink - OA sprinkler and
SC Mister Huey.

Thanks for popping on by.

In my backyard...

i am loving my new bird-houses that my DH  made for me last week... (well, i was the designer, he was the craftsman!!) and they look delightful in amongst my holly hocks and native plants!!
i re-cycled a letter box that i got from the community garage sale a couple weeks ago into a barn type style one, painted and sanded it's roof rustic red. Then with bits n pieces of recycled wood and mini orb we put together another one. Now i am in the thoughts of a third one.....as you have to have groups of 3,5...etc...lol!!
and on the other side of my back yard, my other joy...is my climbing Pierre de Ronard rose, just loaded with flowers hanging off it's trellis. It will get a battering today with this strong northerly wind....but i got this snap of it all in it's glory last week.
oh, i love my back-yard.... and i can see most of it from my kitchen window!!

Hope you having a nice day.

photo fun..

This will be my last Christmas page for the moment (i promise!)....this one featuring my fun photo shoot of the grandsons!! No overly successful photo shoot i must add, but i have documented it as a moment in time. Six precious little boys!!

I am having fun using the colours red n blues for these Christmas pages ( i made two pages similar to this one - one for each of the families albums). Here i have used SC and Pebbles papaers, SC mask, ink, wood veneers; Elle's studio flag, AC thickers, Sassfrass & Lilly Bee alphas; washi tapes from OA, Smash and Freckled fawn.
ps: i asked DH thoughts about my wood veneer arrows- he said " what those sideways christmas trees" oops....i thought i would get away with it!! Oh well, they are glued on fast now- so no removing them!!

Hope you are having some fun with some new scrapping bits n bobs and finding a new use for them!!

Have a nice day!

at Port Elliot beach...

Last summer we spent 5 days down at Victor Harbour and explored the little seaside towns down along that coast. I loved Port Elliot with it's quaint little boutiques and coffee shops, and a fab fish n chip shop right on the beach! I fell in love with it all totally!! It is ear-marked 'a great spot to return to' in my map book!!

This page came together quickly with the yummy colours of the Heidi Swapp vintage chic' range of papers, added some MME embellies, SC wood veneer, clouds and stamps...and it was all but done.

Hope you are having a great day!

Sue xx

on Christmas day...

I am finding all my christmas photos from last year, how did i miss these?? (oh and excuse the way i photographed this one...all skew-wiff!!) Love the tags from Pink Paislee 'Side Walks' collection, they go nicely with the MME papers, and OA witch-hazel mini dotty paper. I am still loving arrows of any kind-(and was so chuffed to get some of those SoDalicious wood ones in a recent SC kit), ink splats and now the word bubbles too!!

Here's to wishing you a good weekend,

Thanks for popping on by,

Finn is one..

I had a moment to finish this page off yesterday. Finn was one in August and a big day it was for the little fellow!
I have used SC- classic calico for the background, bits of AC -Chap, BG- pb&j, and Crater Paper- story teller papers. Washi tape, Jillibean Soup alphas, SC wood veneers, MME-journalling card, buttons, brad and a pebble dot.

Happy little fellow, with his mate n lifesaver- 'dum dum' .
A very cleverly made 'Hungry caterpillar' cake, which the paper word caught alight ...this caused some extra excitement mid singing  of Happy Birthday!!
Hope you are having a good week and able to catch some memorable moments someway somehow!

more layouts from the mini retreat..

Hi, after a couple days struck down with a tummy bug....it's running rife around our area atm..... i am back to post the last of my layouts from our mini retreat....
First Easter: This one is a fav of mine....using the lovely new Pink Paislee 'Portforlio' range of embellishments combined with some MME papers and yummy enamel dots, SC papers and wood veneers....and some washi tapes.

i love you boys:

Smile for Santa:  i realised while i was packing for the retreat that i hadn't yet scrapped last years Christmas photo shoot photos!!(and here is christmas fast approaching us again!!eek...i must get these ones scrapped!!)
These photos of Mace brought back fond memories of that day trying to get 6 little boys to all do the right thing for the camera!!  He pulled alsorts of faces for me, the middle photo he was doing the arghhh arghhh noise as a pirate does, and then at last he gave me the big cheesey smile!! This little boy has me cracking up with his antics!!

You are my sunshine: and this one features Mace again, with his 'superman' cape on, at the farm climbing the front fence! This page was inspired by Karen D and with some help from the table as well....thanks AH.

Now to get on with some more creativeness in my own craft room!! A couple SC kits arrived with some yummy stamps and embellies which i can hardly wait to do something with!!

Hope you are having a great week,

Sue xx

E2C mini retreat

I love Trinity Haven Camp, it is right on the beach near Tumby Bay, and this is where the E2C mini retreat was held again this year. 37 ladies came along with all their scrapping gear, and scrapped we did!! All weekend!!

Once again there was great atmosphere, good company, great food and our local 3 scrap shops come along with their wares so we can scrap, shop, scrap some more, shop some more all weekend!! And if you need a break down to the beach you can head....i love to smell the sea air, feel the sand on my toes - it is just so relaxing for me!!...and the scrapping is a bonus!!

Here is the view from the beach:
and the view from in the shed...busy scrappers everywhere!!
I managed to get 6 layouts done over the weekend, which for me was an acheivement!! The first couple featured Jacob, this one with him wearing his little glasses. He is so cute with them on!

I am loving arrows and paint splats at the moment...the feature on many of my pages!!
and Jacob celebrating his 7th birthday earlier this year.
Well, i hope you have had a good weekend, and i will share the rest of my pages soon.

Thanks for popping on by,

little farm boys...

Ashley took these photos on his i-phone and sent to me...these boys just love to come out to the farm, and they love to see the chooks....well, that was before the big naughty fox came one afternoon and ate them all!! I did love my big colourful rooster with his lovely big tail feathers!

I have used the Basic Grey 'clippings' range here - papers, journalling cards, alpha stickers & banners, and added some AC thickers, and a Flair for buttons - button, and a SC veneer camera.

Hope you are having a nice day...

Sue xx

Currently...

I LOVE..... the view out my front window!!! and thankfully our house faces north, so every room has this view!

I should have taken these shots a week ago, as with a few warm days plus a couple windy ones the canola flowers are starting to come to an end but still....a sea of yellow all around us!! I never tire of this sight and it is one advantage of living up here on this hill - to see for miles around us.

I just love it!!

hope you are having a happy day,

Sue xx

this boy LOVES his mum..

When you  get a smooch from this little fella you feel very special because  he gives very tight squeezes and  big kisses but they aren't given out freely....except to his Mum!! He is so gorgeous!

This one came together quickly - which always pleases (& surprises) me!! I have used MME paper for the background, Crate Paper, MME & Echo Park patt. papers, October Afternoon & AC thicker alphas, Studio Calico stamps, AC date stamp, gg & loui badge/button, ticket & journalling card unknown.

Hope you can find some spare time to relax over this busy grand-final weekend!

Have a good one,

Sue xx

Eight today...

This young man turned Eight earlier this year, and i found these photos amongst my mess!! He was right into bird nesting at the time, so his branch & birdnest cake was perfect for him!! The nests were made by combining melted chocolate & changs noodles and then moulding them into a foil lined bowls. Once set remove and add foil covered eggs!! Easy and quite a hit with the kids!!! He loved it!!

These Heidi Swapp 'no limits' papers suited perfectly...good boy papers!! I added stickers from Echo Park, AC thickers and Crate Paper alphas, stamps from Studio Calico & Heidi Swapp, some twine and a button badge.

Hope you are enjoying this sunshine!!

Suexx

swims like a fish..

I think this is the last one of the boys swimming pages from last summer!! The spurt of warmer weather last weekend inspired me to scrap summery pages....but we have since seen a return of the very wintery conditions. But all is good...

This little boy loves his swim lessons at the Leisure Centre, and each term i can see his confidence & keeness growing more and more...which is good....and he loves it when i tell him he swims like a little fish!!

Products used on this page are: Patt. papers- Studio Calico, Crate Paper; Alphas - Basic Grey, Sassafras, AC thickers; Stamps - Studio Calico; Stickers- Crate Paper, Heidi Swapp; buttons-October Afternoon and some washi tape.

Have a nice day,

Sue xx

Floating...

Another page completed yesterday. This one was done with minimal papers and a bit of misting and inking and then adding just a few bits n bobs.

Papers used here were from MME 'Bright Side' range and BG 'pb&j' 6x6 paper pad. I love those little pads for just a snippet of paper - and great for cards too! Alphas were AC thickers- i love these ones, i have used them over & over, a mask from Crafters templates, stamps- Heidi Swapp, camera from EP paper.

Hope you having a good day,

Sue xx

Learn to Swim

Now that shearing is all done n dusted, i had time to sit quietly out of this horrid blustery weather and attempt some scrapping!!

I finished this one off
Using some new OA 'Woodland Park' papers & alphas, plus some Elle's studio tags, Studio calico banner and wood veneer arrows (i love arrows lately!!), and did some misting with Mister Huey's white mist...it was finally complete!

Onto the next one!

Hope you are having some quiet time to yourself,

Sue xx

a busy Father's Day..

It was a busy time at our house this weekend. Not only did we have Father's day, i was cooking for shearing but Eli also turned 5!! The cousins came and we had a little party lunch at the farm.

I made these very cute cookie monster cup-cakes

...but the hit of the day was the Rocket cake made by Aunty Rachel and the birthday boy - (with his new batman mask on) was very chuffed with his special cake!!
...and of course super Pops with 4 of the six boys going for a little ride on the motor-bike!! It was a busy day and love them all coming to the farm!
Hope you all had a good weekend with family & friends,

Sue xx

Swim

Here is another page using Studio Calico's Hey Day range. I love the colours in it and work well with summery photos.... I have also used a Elle's Studio jounalling card, AC vellum & thickers and Lily Bee alphas and a little piece of washi again!

Yesterday there was a touch of sun teasing us, letting us know that it's not far away now!!

Hope you had a chance to get out to feel the sun,

Sue xx

here he comes...

We all love it when our babies start crawling, but then quickly remember how much easier it is when you know they are in one spot!! This little fella took off once he got the idea of crawling on all fours, and don't you just love that very excited expression of "yippee, here i go". I love it!

With this page i found myself grabbing for the Basic Grey 'Clippings' papers again, along with some Lily Bee for the background, some plain green card and some printed tissue paper that i found in my new work boots box!! Alpha stickers are Simple Stories and AC thickers. And this background paper went thru my typewriter just perfect!! Loving it! One sheet of the BG - handmade quilt was just all triangles....perfect for cutting & stitching in a row.

Hope you are having a great weekend,

Sue xx

cast a line out..

It's not the best picture to scrap but it was about the day and  the moment- watching these two lads having fun with their fishing rods, seeing who could cast out the furtherest, and talking the talk like little old fishermen!!!

Here i have used Crate Paper as the background, some Basic Grey 'Clippings' papers, Elle's studio journalling card, AC pleated flowers, washi tape and buttons....oh plus a Studio Calico wood veneer boat too!!

Oh, just waiting for the sun to shine again for some fishing days!!

Hope you're having a good week,

Sue xx

my new typewriter

I have been on the hunt for an old portable typewriter - we had one years ago as kids, it was a cool retro yellow one ( how cool to have it now, i dream on!). Anyway, my Dad loves to hunt for items in Adelaide and he found this one at Cash Converters.....not quite what i had in mind, as it is electric (and with no instructions) and quite large, but it would do for the moment....... and  now i have realised that it will fit a 12 x12 piece of paper into it.....perfect for my scrapbooking. At only $10 i thought what a bargain, and i sure will have some fun on it!!! .....plus re-fresh my typing skills.......no back spacing or spell check to correct your spelling with this machine!!

Can you imagine my grandsons ??......"Granny what is this machine" and when i said it was a sort of old fashioned computer for writing letters, they were gobsmacked!! They are having fun with it too! LOL!

Hope you are having a fun week,

Sue xx

a double header

Jacob had a big day out fishing with Pops and his Dad back in march, especially when he pulled in these two beauties at once on his little rod!! He was very chuffed about his big haul!!

This page i have used the yummy products from the Studio Calico 'Hey Day' range, and those wood-grain thickers (at last i use them!!), other alpha stickers from Echo Park, and a few paint splats using Mister Huey's paints.

Hope you are having a good week,,

Sue xx

the birthday cake

Rach did very well with her cake decorating expertise again, this time a space ship cake for Evan's 5th birthday. Oh the look on his face when she bought it out to show him and to do the candles was priceless, and then to top it off with cousin Jacob saying "wow, that's a wicked cake!" along with Evan saying "it's so good Mum i almost don't want to eat it" was even more priceless!! It sure was a wicked cake!!

This page has been sitting waiting to be completed for a couple weeks now, and yesterday i finally decided just to cut n stick it down!! Using the lovely MME 'Miss Caroline' 'Follow your Heart' and 'on the Bright Side' papers again....they all co-ordinate together well, added some Sass & Studio Calico alphas and some wood veneers from Studio Calico....and page complete!

Thanks for popping on by,

Sue xx

new teeth..

This little boy hasn't been showing us his cute smile lately, because he is missing his front teeth. Whenever we go to take some pictures he gives a goofy 'no teeth' smile. But this day i snapped him mucking around and giggling....oh, i do love to see that cheeky smile even with no teeth!

Here i used October Afternoon papers, Studio Calico fabric rip, AC thickers alphas, stickers from Sassafras, Jenni Bowlin, Crate Paper and stamps from Studio Calico. Plus some Mister Hueys for the paint splats.

Thanks for popping on by and do say hello,

Sue xx
