Time to Play...

Next up from my weekend away....

PLAY: using up some more old bits n bobs, rummaging thru the scrap stash, feeling a little bit eclectic....feeling free and just adding lots of different patterns and colours....good for boys pages...and just keeping the memories alive!!

Play is about Mr E and his first year of Under 9's football....

It is beautiful to watch an feel little ones enthusiasm, their keenness to play...
to get out onto the field, even though it is damn cold on those Friday nights,
the guernseys cover the knees, and the socks cover the rest.
There is a lot of skipping an jumping about like young lambs in a paddock...
.....which makes me smile.....oh I love to watch you play!!

KINDY KID: after the Wilna class at E2C, I still was in the paint sploshing mood, and added some blue, green & white left over from the class onto another sheet of cardstock....once again added some bright bits of papers, differing patterns....mixing it up...adding some old but lovely embellishments to celebrate and document this little fella going off to kindy...

Yes, stop growing up so fast...
....let me enjoy these moments for a little longer
....now it is your turn to have me sit on the kindy 'mat' with you while your
group finishes up for the day with a story book.
Love these special moments.

So that is my share for today....thanks for popping on by,

Scrap me Happy weekend....

Just recently I had a wonderful weekend in Port Lincoln with 90 other scrappy minded ladies at the Escape2Create retreat....and scrap our hearts out we did. When I go away on these weekends I like to pre-pack kits and have set in my mind what I might do with certain pictures.

While I was packing my kits up, I found myself grabbing for older papers, older embellishments that all seemed to work in with my colourful photos. First up here are some pictures from our tour to Cinque Terre in 2014....ahhh....the memories of this glorious place!! Just an apology : my pictures of my scrap pages are not that flash- sorry!! :(

Cinque Terre: Even though I used older papers & embellishments from Studio Calico an AC Dear Lizzy, I  also used some newer water colour paints, some stamping and some ink splats.... it all worked well together.

Game on: School holidays means out with the board games with the grandsons....and on this day it was Monopoly....and I had to have my wits about me as Mr E was purchasing every piece of property he could and then onto me for rent if I landed on it!! boy oh boy!!

But once again I found myself grabbing older paper ranges, mixing them all up with colours and patterns, it came together easy....adding a few simple embellishments.

I am loving the fact I have been using some older scrap stash....tick for me I say!!

Thanks for popping on by.....and please leave a comment if you do.....that always makes me smile..

Have a good day...xx

There's a rabbit in my CAKE!!

Last year this little fella was so fixated on Rabbits, he so wanted a pet rabbit for his birthday. He even thought Uncle Daniel would get him one for sure...but his parents were trying ever so hard to down play it!! Right up to the eve of his birthday he was so convinced that he was gonna get a rabbit!! He had it all worked out.... it was going to live in his room, play with Ollie the dog, sleep with him n all.

So a birthday cake around the theme of rabbit was a must for Mr Finn's 4th birthday. And such a good job Rachel did of it too!! Her cakes are always a surprise to the kids, until the actual moment of 'cake' time....so little Finn's squeal of "there's a rabbit in my cake" was sooooo funny and cute!!

Guess who is pinching the cotton-tail??

And I just had to use Finn's quote as my title for this page!!

Hope you are having a fun Saturday, enjoying a bit of sunshine like we are here.

Love you....

Saw this photo amongst my photo stash and it bought back happy memories to me from Mother's Day 2015, when this little fella walked into my kitchen with this bunch of flowers and the biggest smile on his face "these are for you Granny" ....awww it did melt my heart!!

I used some papers from the AC Finders Keepers paper pad, black word sticker from Tim Holtz small talk & AC celebrate chipboard words....to go with my flowery pretty page.

I just had to use the LOVE and a few other bits from the Maggie Holmes "Shine" ephemera pack. All sitting lovely on top of some water coloured stripes.

This is my LOVE you page. You are so special to me...as they all are.

Hope you all had a Happy Mother's Day yesterday, spending it with those you love and getting spoilt.

Thanks for popping in,

Celebrate Eight....

Back in September we celebrated another birthday....this time it was Mr E who turned eight, and this time it was my turn to make a cake....and I prefer to make cakes that are quick n easy!! A construction cake for a boy who loves everything about machinery was perfect! It didn't last long with all those maltesers on top!! Mr E was chuffed, and that's the main thing!!

I used up some left over scrap pieces from a kit from last years Escape2create retreat class....the colours suited just right, just added a couple chipboard embellishments, enamel stars and a flair....

Gone fishing with Dad....

Back again with another page....this fishing title caused me much grief, trying the print n cut method with my silhouette was a good thing....except I couldn't feed my paper thru my silhouette....after few hours of trying I fussy cut this one.....
Then hours later decided to have another go....get my instruction book out only to find out I was pushing the wrong button to feed my paper in....so the old saying "if at first you don't succeed, read your instruction book" may work!!!!
All that aside....an effective way to make a title... part using my silhouette....lol

The Boys Fishing trip:

A nice little feed there....not too bad for a couple hours out in the bay with Dad. With fishing running in their blood, it is no surprise that they love it.....young fishermen start!

Thanks for popping on by and Thanks for any comments that you leave,

winners are grinners....

While there has been a pause happening around here....this page happened a week or so ago...

It is another page featuring my footballing grandsons.... 2015 Premiers of the mini colts...lucky to get to hold the flag n all.

I found scrapping with black n white a bit challenging at first.... my page was feeling like it was bare and missing something. So with an added touch of water colouring, this added something else as a background pop to base my wood veneers, wood dots & enamels and other flairs onto.

Now I think there is just a couple more football photos amongst my pile .....but the fishing ones seem to be taking my eye just at the moment.....See what comes up next...
**Edit:  sorry the photos aren't the best, but this moment is too precious not to keep as a record!

Boys just love to Play....

Taking a break from birthday photos....and with boys what else is there....football and fishing!!

I have numerous football pics from season 2015.
This year saw a couple of the little lads taking their first step onto the field for a bit of a run... first up was Mr Eli, in a game of mini mini's......he got a couple nice touches and a bit of a run with the ball, and some kicks....well done!!
PLAY:

Have fun young one....and do like Poppa says "get the ball, run to get clear, n kick it far!!"

Now to find a couple more footy ones or to print off some fishing photos!!

Have a great day,

Sue xx

Remember the Zelda cake.....

And then there was Mr Evan who turned 8....and he requested a Zelda shield cake!! (a granny hardly knows what that is all about...but I am learning!!)

This one came together with lots of old and new bits n bobs, some left overs from a class from the last E2C retreat....and of course not a single photo page....there's the gather round the cake pic with the cousins again!

Oh these are precious moments!

Happy Sunday to you all.xx

A birthday catch-up...

There is always another birthday happening in this house....which means another cool decorated cake happenin'!! This is a catch-up of a couple of those wonderful birthdays in 2015...

.... at times I think why do I do all this scrapping...but when the albums are out there is always someone looking thru them...looking for 'their very own' page....and they stop and have a read... So then I know it is worth it. Soon I will be putting all their pages into their own albums, my memories of them, for them....

oh no...not TEN:

Mr Jacob turned 10....(oh gosh...time is ticking by way too quickly) and it was Granny's turn at trying to do a cake....and an easy option was the MnM's gravity cake....chocolate & MnM's...sure to be a winner!! Yep, I was onto it = one happy boy + 2 brothers!!

Mr Six..

Mr Mace turned Six....and Rachel came up with this cool lego cake, with a lego man busting out the top, nice and bright and sooooo awesome!! Don't you wish you were a kid again just to have a special birthday cake like this....I certainly do!!

So it's time to begin thinking about the birthdays of 2016...

Time to share some scrappiness...

Hello 2016.....It's time I did some posting here..... these are a couple layouts that I completed late last year.

EXPLORE:  I loved to watch these boys running and exploring along the front beach one day that I had them. It's the simple things like collecting shells, squishing those crescent shaped jellies and chasing the seagulls that kept them busy this day!

Cool Rider: Mr moo loved to ride in the open spaces at the farm when his trainer wheels first came off, he gained confidence really quickly and was soon doing laps around the house yard with the dog!

So that is just a start....more to come over next week....when I get near the computer again.
Hope your summer is going along nicely......January seems to be going by ever so fast already!!
